I’ve already given the 2022 Genesis GV70 the full review treatment, but this is one of those vehicles I just can’t stop thinking about. Style, comfort, class, and a low price tag make for a heady blend that shows just what a luxury masterclass Genesis has created — and a big part of that comes down to its looks.

The Genesis GV70 has presence. In a world of staid crossovers, the Korean automaker has created something that warrants a head turn. People are going to be asking you what on earth you’re driving, and they’ll probably even nod appreciatively when you start it up.

While I included a handful of photos in my review of the Genesis GV70, I wanted to take a minute to stop talking and just appreciate its damn good looks. Sometimes, you just like to ogle nice cars more than you want to read about them, and these are all the little details I couldn’t fit in the review itself.

I drove the 3.5T Sport Prestige Trim, which comes with 21" sport alloy wheels that feature the same criss-cross style pattern that you see repeated on the grille. I love a good recurring motif.

The black-and-red interior accented by carbon fiber and chrome is gorgeous and eye-catching without giving you a headache if you’re behind the wheel for a while. Everything is wrapped in leatherette that feels a lot more expensive than it is.

I love attention to detail, even in the places no one sees. The controls for the driver’s 16-way power adjustable seat both look and feel nice — though not as nice as it feels to have a seat so customizable that you’ll never actually want to leave it.

The Genesis GV70's interior takes advantage of long lines and stretched-out curves to create a lateral flow that gives the illusion of both more space and greater speed. And I’m just a sucker for red contrast stitching.

It’s all about the little things with a luxury car, and the GV70 is great about highlighting those details. Even the roughly $42,000 base-model trim will serve you well.

There’s so much to love with the Genesis logo. The carbon fiber inset? The wings? The fact that the hood is sculpted around it? It’s all great. The matte paint really makes the chrome stick out here, too.

The Melbourne Gray matte paint is a $1,500 add-on, and you also can’t take it through the car wash, but I honestly kind of don’t care. In overcast conditions, this crossover looked so perfectly moody, its sharp lines accented by the sun while shadows pooled into its crevices.

The command center of the Genesis GV70 is impeccable. I hate cars that make you reach, and here, everything is pretty much available at your fingertips, from the rotary knob that controls the infotainment system to the digital climate controls that you can toggle between front and rear seats.

I normally don’t pay much attention to the controls on the left-hand side of the steering wheel, but the Genesis is different — I think because the chrome-lined glossy black panel inlaid on matte red leatherette just looks fucking gorgeous.

You can hate the Genesis grille, but you’re wrong. You can hate the thin, slanted, double-line headlights, but you are also wrong. This is a Good Looking front end.
